Greetings! Partner Project is officially beginning. Students have a partner and they will choose their relationship (married, friends -roommates, family - roommates). They either have already drawn careers and rolled for kids, or will be doing so this week. This Wednesday students will explain their type of relationship, how long they've known each other, and how they met. Each week during the course of the semester we will be doing something involving personal finances and adulting. Our next item is taxes, we also will look at mortgages (renting v. mortgages, but they'll 'buy' a house as part of the project), Property Taxes, Cars and Car Taxes, as well as maintenance, and then food. We will also have multiple 'scenarios' that students will draw - broken refridgerator, etc. and then students will have to budget to see how long it'll take to pay for those types of items. We will also be working on Everfi which is an online Personal Finance lessons to help reiterate the lessons of the Partner Project.
Unit Three - Already Over We are wrapping up Unit Three this week. We will test Unit Three next week on the first in person day. We will also be starting Unit Four with sketchnoting for the Legislative Branch this week. We will still have regular quizzes, but tests will pause until the end of Unit Six. Then we will have the Branches of the Federal Government Test, which will cover Units Four, Five, and Six (Legislative, Executive, and Judicial)
Test Retakes If you have a test you need to retake, you have a short window of opportunity to complete them - you can come for reteach/retest or you can complete the study guide by hand and turn it in - in order to be able to retest. Unit One can no longer be retested at the end of this week. If you plan on doing reteach/retest that needs to be arranged before arrival and not a surprise that you are staying after school. If you have questions, please let me know.
Interdisciplinary ProjectIf you have not resubmitted your proposal for the Interdisciplinary Project, this is past due. You need DATA to support that there's a PROBLEM BEFORE researching solutions. If you can not find data to justify that there's a problem, then you need to look for new data and a new problem.
